CHAPEL (This is MANDATORY for everyone who is in the building at 10 a.m. on both Tuesday and Thursday.)
Both Tuesday and Thursday have a Chapel time from 10:00 to 10:25 a.m. Tuesday chapel is held in the Sanctuary, and Thursday Chapel in the Fellowship Hall. Announcements will still be shared at this time. Hallstrom seeks to glorify God in all that we do. HHSW families represent more than 80 different churches. We rejoice that Christians from so many different backgrounds are willing to come, to work, to fellowship together and to encourage one another in the Lord to make these classes possible. Thank you to all who participate in Chapel. HHSW would not exist without the Lord, His blessings, and His guidance. This is the most important time of our day at Hallstrom.

STUDENT COUNCIL (TUESDAYS)
Student Council meets the 4th Tuesday of each month from 10:00 to 10:25. All 8th-12th graders are invited to join. Involvement in Student Council offers older students at Hallstrom many opportunities to grow in leadership and servanthood. Our younger students and parents are watching you, older students, and are very generous in their praise of those of you who are showing by your character and good deeds your devotion to Christ. Student Council members sell pizza and pop each Tuesday. Proceeds from these sales sponsor the Spring Academic Fair and scholarships awarded at the May Honors Program. Student Council events include hay rides, gym nights, HHSW spring banquet, and community service projects (H.I.S., Homeschoolers Impacting Society.) Community service projects include the Hike for Life, Special Olympics, Patriot’s Gateway, bake sales, car washes, and other outreaches to needy people.

HALLSTROM GAZETTE
The Hallstrom Gazette is written and published by the students in Mrs. Didier’s journalism class. Join this class to improve your writing skills while providing a great newspaper for our co-op.

YEARBOOK
Created in a class of the same name, the HHSW Yearbook can be ordered during the school year and is available for pick up in August following the completed school year. In conjunction with this effort, LifeTouch Studios photographs students in October with an option for parents to purchase individual photographs of their child(ren).

SPRING ACADEMIC FAIR AND BOWLS
This is a great opportunity for students to display projects and participate in academic bowls and spelling bees.

CLASS PERFORMANCES -- CHRISTMAS AND SPRING
Near the end of each semester many of the Hallstrom classes present a program open to families and friends.

HONORS PROGRAM
This program is held in May to honor students enrolled in high school courses who have excelled in academic work during the school year. Students are nominated by their teachers for these awards. Highest achieving students are awarded HHSW scholarships. Teacher appreciation is also included during this evening.

Parents of high school seniors wishing to participate in a graduation ceremony for home schoolers need to have tentative plans nailed down no later than January when gown orders need to be in.  Watch for information throughout the year.
